Sophie Thürk studied law in Freiburg. After her legal traineeship, which included a placement in São Paulo, Brazil, she completed a doctorate in international civil procedure at the European Business School in Wiesbaden and at New York University, New York (USA). Her doctoral research was supported by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
From November 2013, Sophie Thürk worked as a research assistant — first for Krämer Winter, from 2017 for Rohnke Winter, and from 2024 for the firm WINTER. Alongside this, she practised as an independent lawyer. Since 2018 she has taught as a lecturer at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Karlsruhe.
On 8 April 2025, Sophie Thürk was admitted to the bar of the Federal Court of Justice and founded the firm Winter | Thürk together with Thomas Winter.
